HAWORTH PUBLIC TOILETS
Following Bradford Council’s decision to close the public toilets, which they maintain. The Parish Council has been working hard to explore ways of continuing to run these vital facilities.
Unfortunately, it has not been possible for the Parish Council to reach agreement on the transfer of the toilets in Haworth Central Park and the Bronte Parsonage Car Park, before Bradford withdraws its funding on 1st April 2018. These facilities requiring significant investment to bring them up to standard and the Parish Council is committed to ensuring that this work is undertaken before it agrees to the asset transfer for the buildings. The Parish Council, is now nearing a mutually agreeable outcome regarding taking on, the running of toilets which is a significant liability for such a small Parish Council.
Regrettably, these ongoing negotiations do mean that the toilet blocks will be closed for what we hope is a short period of time. The Parish Council hopes that the public can be understanding of the current position.
In the coming weeks we will be asking for volunteers on an interim basis with helping to open and close the toilets whilst, other measures are put in place. If you would like to offer your assistance please contact the Parish Council by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone 01535 644001.
