ProjectsHaworth, Cross Roads & Stanbury Parish Council
On August 1st 2013 Haworth, Crossroads & Stanbury Parish Council took over Full management & control of their allotment sites from Bradford MDC.
There are two sites in Haworth (Rawdon Road & West Lane). The waiting times for a plot are between 2-3 years.
The Council has significantly reduced the numbers on the waiting list since taking back management of the sites and are actively seeking new plots of land for possible allotment sites. To be eligible for an allotment prospective tenants must reside in the parish of Haworth, Cross Roads & Stanbury
Toilets in the Parish
In response to budget cuts by Bradford MDC, the Parish Council has now completed an asset transfer of the two toilet blocks in Cross Roads Park. These toilets are managed by the Friends of Cross Roads Park, with the assistance of a magnificent team of volunteers who open, close and clean the toilets on a voluntary basis.
Update – April 2018
Following, Bradford MDC’s withdrawal of funding from the Toilets in Central Park, Haworth and the Bronte Parsonage Car Park, Haworth, the Parish Council has taken control of both sets of toilets on a Tenancy at Will agreement from Bradford.
The toilets are currently being opened by volunteers and we are attempting to ensure that the toilets are open 10.00am to 4.00pm, seven days per week.
Haworth Village Hall
Haworth Village Hall [the former Community Centre] on Butt Lane, is currently under the control of the Parish Council via a ‘Tenancy at Will’ arrangement with Bradford MDC.
Since April 2016, the building has been managed an run by a Management Committee, who are an amazing group of volunteers, mainly compromising representatives of the groups which use the building. Councillor Angel Kershaw represents the Parish Council on this Committee and is our point of liaison between the two groups.
The Management Committee are working hard to increase usage of the building, whilst improving the facilities which it offers. This is a huge project which will take time to come to full fruition but the groups plans are progressing well.
